Primary Function:
The CNA works under the direction of the Director of Nursing, RN or LPN as a Certified Nursing Assistant, while caring for skilled rehabilitation and long-term care residents and helping to maintain the work environment.
Overview of Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide basic nursing care. This includes, but is not limited to assisting residents with ADL’s such as bathing, dressing, ambulation, toileting, eating. Obtain vital signs.
Qualifications:
Successful completion of a State 75-hour Certified Nursing Assistant – CNA, course as approved by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services required.
Must remain in good standing with the Nursing Assistant registry
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language.
Overview of Physical Demands:
Work is typically indoors in a healthcare environment. Noise level is usually moderate, but may, on occasion, be loud
Certified Nursing Assistant – CNA, must be able to do the following: lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 pounds. Physical abilities include extended periods of walking/standing and the ability to kneel, crouch and bend.
Must be able to deal with multiple interruptions. Work may be stressful when faced with multiple demands.
Must be able to talk and hear within normal ranges. Visual abilities must be correctable to normal ranges. Manual dexterity needed to operate equipment.
