You Have a Choice For Your CNA Renewal
If you let your CNA license lapse, you must retake your written and skills exams. You have two options:
- CNA Refresher Class And Recertification Testing
- CNA Recertification Testing Only

CNA Refresher Class And Recertification Testing
With the Refresher Class, online study materials are provided when you enroll. Then you will have three hours of hands-on skills review with an instructor prior to your testing. This allows you to be confident in your abilities and gives you the proper prep to pass the exams.
When you come to Quality Career Pathways, your day will be broken down as follows:
For the first three hours you will review key CNA skills with our certified instructor. Your instructor will illustrate how to complete the skills based on the exam’s metrics, then you will have the opportunity to practice under the instructor’s supervision.
Once training is complete, everyone will have one hour to complete the written exam.
The remaining time is used for individual skills testing. Your exact skills exam time will be provided prior to your arrival at QCP and will be based upon order of enrollment (i.e. the person who enrolls first, will get the first time slot). You will be free to go once you have completed both exams.
REMINDER: Nebraska DHHS regulations state you have 3 attempts at testing regardless of the location/school you choose to test. After 3 attempts, you will need to take the entire 76-hr CNA Course again.
Also, if you know you have not worked during the required timeframe and your CNA license is going to lapse in the future, you can take the refresher course or sit for the exams prior to your license lapsing.
Hours To Completion: Approximately 3 Hours, Plus Exam Time
