BLS Course Instructor Position Overview:
Seeking a Certified Basic Life Support Course Instructor to teach high quality CPR and other principles of care consistent with AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC). This instructor will be involved with an on-campus skills lab 1-2 times per month.
The Basic Life Support Instructor is passionate about sharing their knowledge and committed to supporting students to achieve their full potential. The individual will be integral in preparing our students with the knowledge, technical skills and work ethic required for their successful healthcare career path.
Applicants must have strong command of concepts related to the courses they teach. This includes both the cognitive skills as well as the psychomotor skills.
Responsibilities:
- Course delivery: Instructors need to teach AHA materials correctly and as outlined in the appropriate Instructor Manual and Lesson Plans.
- Testing: Instructors must be able to test students effectively.
- Professionalism: Instructors need to maintain a high standard of ethics and professionalism when teaching AHA courses.
- Program Administration: Instructors need to be able to manage time, space, materials, and paperwork in compliance with AHA guidelines.
Requirements:
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification;
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Instructor Certification (Required);
- Previous teaching or training experience preferred.
