QCP Press Release: June 2026

Quality Career Pathways Celebrates 15 Years of Workforce Development and Announces New Ownership

OMAHA, Neb. — Quality Career Pathways (QCP), a leading provider of Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), Certified Medication Aide (CMA), Pharmacy Technician (Pharm Tech) and healthcare workforce development programs in the Omaha metro area, is celebrating 15 years of helping students launch rewarding careers in healthcare while also announcing a new chapter in the organization’s history.

Founded in 2011 by Rick and Denise Magill, Quality Career Pathways was created to address a growing need for qualified healthcare professionals throughout the region. The Magills had already established themselves as successful entrepreneurs after opening Comfort Keepers of Omaha and Council Bluffs in 2002, so they could recognize that offering high-quality training programs would prepare CNAs and CMAs for success in the workplace.

The organization continued to grow over the years, eventually expanding with the addition of its Vinton Street campus, allowing QCP to serve even more students seeking healthcare careers. To date, tens of thousands of area students have graduated with medical certifications from Quality Career Pathways.

As of June 8, 2026, after 15 years of growth and impact, the Magills are officially passing the torch to new owners Calli and Cody Smith.

The Magills met Calli through the transition of their Comfort Keepers business. With her background in homecare and healthcare, they were confident that Calli shared their passion for serving others, developing healthcare professionals, and leading organizations that positively impact the community. Calli will actively be working and leading Quality Career Pathways. Cody currently works full time in another position, however he will support Quality Career Pathways as an owner.

“Quality Career Pathways has been one of the most rewarding ventures of our lives,” said Denise Magill. “Helping students begin meaningful careers in healthcare while supporting local employers has been an incredible journey. As we look forward to spending more time with family, friends, and traveling, we are grateful to know that QCP is in capable hands and positioned for continued success.”

“I have seen firsthand the impact this organization has on the community.” said Calli Smith. “We thank the Magills for everything they have done for the past 15 years and look forward to what the future holds for them and for Quality Career Pathways.”

Under the Smith family’s leadership, Quality Career Pathways will continue its mission of preparing compassionate, skilled healthcare professionals while expanding opportunities for students seeking meaningful careers in healthcare.

As QCP celebrates its 15th anniversary, the organization remains committed to the same core values that inspired its founding: excellence in education, workforce development, and strengthening the communities it serves.
