How To Choose The Best Course For You?

When looking at the different certifications available, you will want to take into consideration a few things:

  • How quickly do you want to complete your certification?
  • Are you interested in patient interaction or administrative work?
  • Do you prefer to work in a hospital?

These are just a few things to consider. To get a more detailed assessment of your options, check out this article.

What Do Online Classes Look Like?

Most courses have some level of online coursework. You will notice that if it is an online hybrid course, a registration deadline is listed in the schedule. This is to ensure you have time to complete your homework before coming to class.

As soon as you complete the application and pay for the course (or make an initial payment on a payment plan), you will gain access to the online curriculum. If this is your first experience with an online learning platform, you may be nervous about how it all works. Take a look at this tutorial to familiarize yourself with the process.

What Is Covered In Hands-On Training?

For some courses, once you complete your online hours, you will come to campus for class. This includes traditional classroom instruction, plus skills training. Each location is host to a skills lab that includes equipment to learn and practice key skills for your certification such as: hospital beds, practice mannequins, hoyer lifts, blood pressure cuffs, gait belts, medication carts, oxygen tanks, urinals, denture and oral kits, walkers, bed pans, wheel chairs, tubs, scales, transfer benches, and more.

Once the instructor illustrates the skills, you will have ample time to practice on your own. The instructor will walk the room to supervise, ensuring you are practicing correctly.
