Precision Compounding Pharmacy in Omaha, NE is currently hiring a full-time compounding pharmacy technician. 

Hours:  Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm

Job Description Summary:

Looking for a technician to compound capsules, creams, troches, suppositories, and other dosage forms.

Job Description: (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)  

Assists the pharmacist with the supplies, preparation, and dispensing of medications using appropriate techniques by following policies and procedures.

Prepares medications under the supervision of a pharmacist. Assess ingredients to determine identity, purity, and strength. Accurately weigh, measure, and mix ingredients during the compounding process.

Understands and can perform basic pharmaceutical calculations to assure accuracy to obtain correct doses of medications.  Understands basic drug terminology

Accurately calibrates equipment. Assists with recording and maintaining pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs.  Ensures that all pharmacy surfaces, equipment, and clean room are cleaned and sanitized according to quality assurance/control procedures

Complete all necessary documentation associated with these activities. Label and package final products

Ensure the proper disposal of hazardous wastes and drugs

Stock ingredients, vials, and other compounding supplies in accordance with storage requirements and remove expired products from shelves or other storage areas

Must maintain confidentiality, observe legal and ethical guidelines of patient and proprietary information. Understands and complies with HIPPA

In all activities, complies with accreditation, legal, regulatory and safety requirements

Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Functions well as a team player, and able to multi-task.

Demonstrates a commitment to service, organization values and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor at all times. Excels in exceptional customer service and interacts effectively with physicians and patients

Basic Education and/or Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Preferred Nebraska Pharmacy Technician license but are open to no experience – will provide on the job training and paid certification.
  • Will train if applicant has no compounding background.
