Job Description
Adheres to the policies, operating procedures, the Mission and Core Values of Omega Senior Living.
Adheres to the policies and operating procedures of the community governing the administering of medications to residents.
Exercises independent judgment and discretion in the performance of personnel tasks with the understanding that the responsibilities are not routine or limited to resident care matters.
Maintains a clean, safe environment in the community.
As per state regulations and completion of required training/certification, administers or assists with self-administration of medication and treatments as prescribed by the health care provider.
Observes resident’s response to existing treatment plan, is aware of prominent medication interactions and side effects, and observes resident for occurrence of such and notifies supervisor.
Adheres to community infection control policies and procedures.
Responsible for daily documentation in resident records according to state regulations where applicable, such as completing necessary forms, charts, reports, etc., and submit these as may be required.
Observes and documents the health and emotional condition of each resident, promptly reporting all changes to the supervisor.
Follow the facility’s procedures allowing residents to self-administer his or her medications.
Monitoring and documenting all aspects of such self-administering.
Exhibits understanding of and follows medication policies and procedures.
Maintains an organized and clean medicine supply room.
Completes an accurate accounting of all medications, including controlled substances as per policy.
Assists with completion of medication cart audits per policy and direction of supervisor.
Receives report on all residents.
Provides direct resident care.
Follows procedure regarding incidents/accidents to residents.
Continuing education to include staff meetings, in-services and Web based training.
